BlazBlue at AX 2008

BlazBlue, the newest creation by Arc systems better known as the creators of Guilty Gear. Blazblue has been described as the spiritual successor of Guilty Gear. The game may seem like Guilty Gear but its a total rework from the ground up, but still utilizes so many of the Guilty Gear Quirks, and styles while still being something new.

Arc systems will be doing Beta tests for the game for the first time in the US, at Anime Expo 2008.
It will be like any other Arcade game, located at the Arcade area for AX.

So stay tuned I will be playing that game like crazy at night and will give you my personal review of the game.

Until then watch some youtube videos of it to get you pumped.

Atlus Shin Megami Tensei...Behind the Scenes

Atlus has announced a special behind the Scenes look at the the Shin Megami Tensei Series that includes voice actors Yuri Lowenthal and Karen Strassman, for those of you who aren't too familiar with them, are voice actors for Anime and video games, more notably by me SMT Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, and Persona 3. The Behind the scenes will be taking place at Anime Expo, and I for sure am extremly excited that im taking my copies of persona 3 (maybe Fes), DDS 1 and 2 to be autographed, and just enjoy myself.

As for extra fun news, Nippon Ichi will be holding events at their booth where a special school will be introduced (can we guess Disgaea 3), where they will be demoing all of their soon to be released games, like Disgaea 3, Disgaea DS, and just recently announced Rhapsody a Musical Adventure for DS.

I will be taking as many pictures as I can, and reviewing, playing as much as I can while I work and inform everyone of any new news.

Randomness

While fighting the Sops and finding the truth of everything going on around me, enemies appear out of nowhere in an effort to take me out.

If you haven't guessed yet, im talking about Metal Gear Solid 4, or am I? lol
naw but I have been playing MGS4 on and off, during my days off, nights and whenever I can squeeze some gaming time of my crazy schedule. Act 5 is a pain, getting caught just means so many problems with me and its random, so there can be no full on tactic, just random luck. I'm hoping I can beat the game by the weekend if I have free time, because next week is Anime Expo, where I'll be your local Exhibit hall salesman, helping you find games, where I've been thinking I might take some of my rare items to make some side money and maybe make a loving game fan boy happy, I haven't decided yet, all I know is I want this year expo to be fun and different. Well ill be writing a review for Persona 3 Fes tommorow so look foward to it.

Review: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Now if you haven't heard of this series yet, read this, if you have....read this still and remind yourself how great this series is.

I've followed this series since its first aired as a fan sub and was hooked, and with is being released in America by Bandai in July, and I will be buying it dvd by dvd.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the story of humans being controlled by demi humans, humans are forced to live underground take shelter any how come above are immediately killed.
Simon is a young orphan who loves his job as a digger, as that is what most humans are doing to expand territory for homes, and even find other towns. Simon has one man he looks up to, Kamina, a brash young man who believes humans should be free to see the sky, live as they please and lives as his heart and spirit tell him to, no buts about it.

One day an avalanche happends and Kamina and Simon are stuck under rubble, Simon is about to give up as Kamina encourages him to do everything he can till he dies and not to give up about anything, as he does Simon finds courage in himself and frees he and Kamina. Kamina respects Simon as his little brother and Simon sees Kamina as a bigger tough brother.

On a digging excavation Simon finds a weird drill shaped item and eventually a little robot, as he does a sexy girl falls from the sky fighting a weird monster neither Kamina or Simon have ever seen in their lives, and in the end fighting the monster with the girl escaping the underground caves and seeing the world for the first time. Simon and Kamina join the girl named Yoko as they decide to see the world save it and aim for the skies!!!

Giving just the basis and first episode of Gurren Lagann I wanted to avoid spoilers for those who will see it soon or want to as we speak. The studio who produced this Anime is Gainax the same weirdos who brought you Evangelion and FLCL, so really its a series you cant miss!! Check it our coming in July or go watch it now, its a 26 episode anime that goes beyond the skies and stars because everyone should aim for the skies!!!

and for those of you who have seen it heres a lil special gift brought to you by Gainax!!

Dragonball Z burst Limit

The newest game in the Dragonball universe, on the Ps3 and Xbox360.

The game itself is mostly based on the Budokai Tenkaichi (Sparking) fighting engine, with tons of re-works. The anime 3d style is pretty good, and the small stories in the game work for it and against it. The graphics are beautiful and very detailed, and the first time online mode (for Sony and Xbox360) are great. I've put about 10 hrs on it, to complete and my friends about 15.

The game is a bit short starting at the Sayian Saga and ending at the Cell saga including, Bardock and Brolly. They're many fights and the cut scenes follow the anime to the point, but during the ending of the cut scene in which something interesting is suppose to happen...it just cuts out and you wonder why?! with everything they have why can't we see Vegeta finish off Nappa in the anime, and instead cut right before he gets blown up? They can't say because its to graphic, to bad for TV, cause its a game and you see 16's head crushed even for a second.

Scenes missing from the game include introduction of Trunks, he randomly appears in 2 fights but never explain why he is there, and skip alot of the great scenes like Goku's heart problem and Dr Gero, and focus alot on some useless fights like Recoome beating up every Z fighter before Goku appears.

The game deserves much praise, alot was missing but for them to develop the game for 360 and ps3 its to be expected that things had to be cut out, because if you do -s3 and 360 programming at the same time 360 has a disc limit of 9.6 gigs and ps3 goes up to 50 gigs at the moment, so once they fill up a 360 disc they are done and send it out to be burnt after making small changes.

Gone but back

Hey everyone who is still reading this, sorry its been about a month since my last post, things have been pretty busy, having to deal with Fanime, work and trying to make time for my friends, but i'm back now and going to be heading in full steam when I get a chance.

Fanime was pretty interesting, I spent most of my time working from 10am-7pm at the Japan Video Game booth and it was pretty hectic. I took some random time off to do some shopping, talk to friends I made up at the Con. and check out the game tournaments/ play in them, I wasn't able to take many pics but with Anime Expo coming in 2 weeks ill be taking way more pics.
